My little Clem turned five a few weeks ago. Five!! I can’t believe she is that old already?!? For her birthday she requested a puppy themed party, so we went to work planning. First thing I found on diapers.com were these cute doggie napkins with red, blue and green on them (you can see them at the end of the dessert bar below). I just had to get them and it was perfect for setting the color scheme.
I was able to reuse a birthday banner we already had in the right colors and made a cute center part for the “5” from a paper plate, paint and streamers. Holly made the desserts for the party. How cute are these puppy cake pops and doggie cookies!
Clem requested tri-tip and BBQ chicken legs for dinner; she has great taste! We set up tables under the pine trees near the swing set to have a little shade for eating and opening presents. I found theses cute puppy goodie bags and green balloons at diapers.com and used them as table decorations. We filled each with a few rocks to weigh it down and taped a ballon in the opening.
To entertain Clem’s guests we had the great idea to do an adopt a puppy table from Nothing But Country‘s blog. It was a great way to keep the kids busy for a few minutes and gave them a cute party favor to take home. I made the adoption box from a diaper.com shipping box, painted it teal and Clem decorated it with cute stickers. Holly made the Certificate for Adoption with a outlined image the kids could color in, a place to put their new pet’s name and an area to sign their names. The stuffed puppies were from the Dollar Store and each had a “Pups Rock” bracelet from diapers.com as a collar.
The kids also decorated their “puppy carriers” with stickers and crayons to take their new friends home. I looked everywhere for boxes to work as puppy carriers and finally found these great boxes at Michael’s in the baking section. They are made for carrying desserts so they even have a clear window to see the puppies through.
Such a great party! Happy Birthday Clem!!
