Wedding Week: Wood Round Table Numbers

Posted on

An often overlooked outlet for creativity in a wedding are table numbers.  For our rustic outdoor wedding, I wanted to find a way to incorporate the theme and dress up the tables with DIY table numbers.  I considered mini chalkboards, decoupage large wood letters and even using photos for the table numbers, but kept coming back to the idea of using something natural and from the property.  I just love how these turned out!

Back when I originally made these for my wedding I was not in the blogging mode and neglected to take detail photos for the making of.  Luckily my dear friend Tessa loved these table numbers as much as I did and asked to use them at her wedding this coming August.  I only had 10 tables and she is expecting 22, so I got the opportunity to make a few more and document the process.

Our Rustic Wedding

Love is in the air! With spring right around the corner, it sure is starting to feel like wedding season!  This time last year I was entering the final scramble to get my long list of DIY projects done in time for our August wedding.  In honor of this time of year, welcome to Just Two Crafty Sisters Wedding Week (or two weeks since I just realized how many projects we actually did!!) Let’s start with an overview of our rustic / backyard / orchard wedding details.  Looking for a tutorial of each project?  As I post those tutorials over the next few weeks, I will link them here :)

Our wedding colors were fuchsia and chocolate brown.  Being that the wedding was held outside in my parents’ orchard, I wanted to keep everything simple and a little bit country.   Continue reading »

Button Letter Kid’s Names

Happy Easter! This year for Easter I decided to use some of the leftover burlap from my wedding and break into that stash of random buttons to make a framed button letter for each of my nieces. I was able to find these cute Easter baskets at CVS and here is the final product!

Easter Baskets with Framed Button Letters

I know this is going to be more of a gift for my sister than the little girls, so I made a point to fill plastic eggs with candy for Clementine and Georgia.  Claire is only going to be a few days old on Easter, so no candy for her this year. :) I had found this great inspiration of a brightly colored button letter C framed on black paper a while ago on Pinterest (see my pin of it here).  Here is the process of how I made my framed button letters:

Painted Herb Garden Pots

It was sure starting to feel like spring, with temperatures in the high 60’s and low 70’s last week!  I decided I would get a jump start on my apartment balcony herb garden by getting my pots ready.  It is still too early to plant my herb garden I think, but once spring is here I’ll be ready!  I keep joking with Alex that if I make the pots super cute, maybe this time I will keep the herb garden alive for more than a month :)
